Greater Long Island - March 14, 2025

Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico confirmed Friday to Greater Long Island that Five Guys is lining up to be the next tenant in Shirley’s Floyd Harbor Retail Center.
“I confirmed with Cris Damianos at Damianos Realty Group that Five Guys is moving forward in Floyd Harbor Retail Center,” Panico said.
The popular burger chain will fill the vacant spot in “Building B,” where Harbor Freight currently occupies 83 percent of the building. Panico noted that Five Guys would simply need to obtain building permits from Brookhaven Town in order to move forward.
Founded in Arlington, Virginia, in 1986, Five Guys has grown into a global burger phenomenon known for its hand-formed burgers, fresh-cut fries cooked in peanut oil, and customizable toppings. The family-owned business expanded rapidly after beginning franchising in 2003 and now operates more than 1,800 locations worldwide, with a dedicated following for its simple menu and consistent quality.
The Floyd Harbor Retail Center, owned by Damianos Realty Group, is already home to Applebee’s, Harbor Freight and Aldi. A Starbucks is expected to open this summer in the shopping center along Montauk Highway.
This new location will join eight other Five Guys restaurants in Suffolk County, including those in Amityville, Port Jefferson Station, Selden, Commack, Hauppauge, Farmingdale, Deer Park and Bay Shore.
• Five Guys customers devour more than 260,00 peanuts a week.
• There are more than 1,800 Five Guys locations across the globe.
• Given the plethora of hamburger toppings available at Five Guys, there are more than 250,000 possible combinations per burger.
• Five Guys makes more than 165 million hamburgers each year.
• The Five Guys are actually five brothers form the Murrell family.
